A Review of "An Overview of Phenomenal Nature"

By Wyatt Sutton

From WCCS

I try to stay positive in music reviews. I don't like bashing people or their music, and I want to tell you what to listen to, not what you shouldn't be listening to. Sadly I can not do that here.

The album "An Overview of Phenomenal Nature" is not high up on my list of recommendations, actually it is not on it at all. It is slow, it is uninteresting, and the lyrics are not special. It sadly just seemed one note throughout with a never changing tempo between songs and lyrics that could be described as fine at best.

With that being said there was one highlight to the album, the musical aspects to it. There was never a problem with the music, and it was consistently the best part of the entire album.

The last track on the album, "The Ramble", an instrumental piece, was for a lack of better words beautiful. If you listen to this album at all listen to this song. The way it mixes the sounds of everyday life with expertly played instruments is something to wait for, something that makes the album a worthwhile listen. It truly is a song worth listening to because it tries to be an experience and a song at the same time.

With that being said the rest of the album is not really worth a listen. It drags for most of it without any changes that make it interesting. It is one note at best.
